How would you describe your personal style?
This has been a question that I have been asked many times before, but I have always struggled with an answer. When it comes to my personal style, I tend to purchase trendy items. I want to be the first taking risks and wearing new pieces before anyone else. I like to put my own twist on the latest trends. My favorite thing to hear from people when commenting on my outfits is, “I would have never been able to put that together!” - which makes it my own. Overall, I would define my personal style as bold and trendy.

How has your personal style evolved throughout the years?
As I have gotten older my style has progressed. I am more confident and have a better understanding of who I am. I now know how I want to present myself to others. I always try to show my personality through my style and never try to be something I am not. The best thing is that I dress for myself and stopped caring about what others would think.

Where do you like to shop and why?
I have always been a lover and frequent shopper of Nordstrom. Every time I go shopping there I am guaranteed to leave with a new purchase. I feel that I can create my own looks at Nordstrom through the endless options of product. I can shop designer brands, buy looks on trend, and purchase my premium denim (which is unbelievable, by the way). Nordstrom is always my go-to store. When I want to branch out to cater to my trendier side, I will go to Zara or Aritzia. This is where I am most likely to find my trendy pieces.

Who/what inspires you?
I have always been a television junkie. I am constantly looking at the fashion on TV and following shows because of it. Like many, Gossip Girl was my doorway to the fashion world. I instantly fell in love with the character Serena van der Woodsen and wanted her closet. This eventually led to my girl crush on Blake Lively. She is truly my number one fashion inspiration. Not only is she beautiful, but she also  dresses herself. Blake Lively is one of the very few celebrities without a stylist, and she is always the best dressed in my book. Her outfits always look immaculate and they are all her own. I love how she puts her own taste into every look. She is seriously perfection.

What are the top three summer trends in retail?
1.   My number one summer trend is easily a boyfriend jean. Whether it is distressed, light or dark wash, everyone needs one. The boyfriend jean is extremely comfortable and can be dressed up or down. My favorites right now are by the denim brands Mother, Paige, and Frame. Note: always try a size down in boyfriend jeans.
2.   My next go to summer staple is my AG denim jacket. Honestly, I have five denim jackets in my closet and I only wear the one. The AG denim jacket is unbelievable. The jacket is a timeless piece that I wear with everything. I can wear it to work or bring it out to dinner. It is the perfect third piece to every outfit.
3.   Lastly, I love adding a pop of color to every look. It can be a statement necklace, a shoe, or a lip, but somewhere in my look there is usually color. Right now my go to summer colors are lipsticks by Mac (Mangrove Matte) and YSL (Rouge Pur Couture). These two shades are my finishing touches on every summer look.

What are three tips you would give about establishing a personal style?
1.   Start out slow. What I mean by this is don’t go have a shopping blow out and buy all trendy items or boho looks. Slowly buy pieces that you like and one day you will look in your closet and see a reoccurring trend.
2.   DON’T say "I cannot pull that off." You can! It is truly a mindset. If you want to try a look out, go for it. Just make sure you feel confident in it and you will own that style.
3.   Always be you! When establishing a personal style you want to make sure you reflect your own personality through it. You never want to lose sight of who you really are. Make sure to keep the details that separate you from everyone else. Personal style is truly one of the best ways to show who you are.
