Review: Kate Moss x Topshop

With all the chatter and buzz about the new Kate Moss for Topshop collection, we were dying with excitement to see the looks. When they finally dropped the collection yesterday, we were sadly disappointed. With the expectation of this line being the one-stop shop for festival season (as it was advertised), we were expecting to see gorgeous prints, laces, and really anything aesthetically pleasing and appropriate to wear while dancing and sweating in the heat of the summer sun. Rather, we received some bedazzled hotpants, an embellished star cami, one too many lamé tops, and a series of paisley neckties. We were hardly expecting half the collection to be comprised of $200 pajama sets. But, hey! If that's what you plan on rockin' this festival season... by all means! While we aren't typically ones to be highly opinionated, this collaboration was simply a let down. Here is a general overview...

The collection didn't resemble Kate's style to us at all. But how could it when it was all over the board? This collection was comprised of unwearable, over-the-top extreme-glam night wear pieces with a few dated bohemian daywear pieces mixed in. From a fashion icon, we were surely hoping for a lot more.
