Sparkle and Sophistication Event Coverage

Last weekend we had the opportunity to attend Chicago designer Nusrat Siddiqui's media launch introducing her new jewelry line, Sparkle and Sophistication. We were lucky enough to not only see the collection, but to also participate in the shooting of the Sparkle and Sophistication look book. The event took place at the breathtaking Lacuna Artist Lofts in Pilsen. The crazy-artistic event space really had us inspired. We had so much fun! We even got the chance to work with a hair and make-up team before we had our five minutes of fame in front of the camera. Styling the edgy-yet-sparkly pieces to intermingle with our own personal styles showed just us just how versatile these gems are! Thanks to local photographer Lynn Millspaugh, we now have some stunning pictures of the event to share.

The space was beautifully set up with all of the jewelry pieces glistening in the middle of the sunlit room. When we caught up with Nusrat, she explained her motivation behind designing  this collection. As girls who know our own personal styles well, we can definitely relate to Nusrat's dreaded experiences of not finding exactly what she imagines while shopping. After continually wanting pieces she couldn't track down, she decided to start creating them for herself!

Nusrat was inspired by her own personal style. "I dress classic, but there is always one piece of sparkle," she told us. She created these pieces to be the kind of versatile gems that can go from the office to cocktail hour. They are classic styles that have the ability to brighten up any outfit.

We chose pieces from the collection that we thought totally complimented our personal styles. We had a blast styling our looks and getting primped. Bri chose to pair The Empress and The Love Necklace to add a pop of color to her neutral outfit. Samantha chose a pink Empress along with a matching Mod Necklace to accent the light pink pops in her socks.

Jewelry isn't the only industry Nusrat is after. With the amazing support of her family and an undeniable talent for creating truly beautiful pieces, she hopes to continue growing her brand by designing clothing in the future. We cannot wait for that launch event!
