This week is the first of many to come in our new style star series where we will feature inspiring people and their outstanding personal styles. To kick it off, we wanted to give you a man's point of view. Introducing Peter Fritz, a guy whose Instagram we love to follow for great mens' fashion. We got the chance to ask him a few questions - check out what he has to say!
Peter Fritz
How would you describe your personal style? This is always the hardest question to answer because I want to have a cool name for my style but I don’t. I like to be coordinated and simplistic.
How has your personal style evolved throughout the years? My personal style has evolved enormously. Throughout high school I was the typical Hollister / Abercrombie surfer, which transformed into the Ralph Lauren bro. My sophomore year of college I studied in Cambridge, England for a semester and my life and style was flipped upside down. I started concentrating on the aesthetic and function of clothing rather than the brand name.
Where do you like to shop and why? I am a person who truly enjoys taking time out of my day to search for new clothing. I read a lot of fashion magazines and look through a ton of street style photos everyday. That being said, I discover a new site/brand daily. My go-to places are Mr. Porter, Revolve Clothing, and Gilt.
What/who inspires you? Nick Wooster - He is the king of simplicity and layering.
Kanye West - He is the king of not [caring] what you think. He has evolved streetstyle culture. I aim to use elements of these two men in my outfit choice and personality.
What are three tips you would give to guys about establishing a personal style?
Do your homework, be patient, and invest in timeless pieces.
